Chocolate Bariloche



Is there anybody in the world doesn't like Chocolate?







Bariloche Chocolate are famous around the world, carried out with artisanal and regional products.

Travellers all over the world buy chocolate in San Carlos de Bariloche before leaving and thus having something sweet to share with loved people at home.



Fenoglio is one of most traditional stores for instance. As you might guess, Mitre Av. is a good place to taste some.

Patagonia Argentina Map



Patagonia Argentina Map:
Patagonia Region is located between the red lines in Argentina Map. Notice that Chile is part of Patagonia too. So from Neuquen state to Tierra del Fuego at very south (down in the map) Patagonia Argentina goes from Atlantic sea cost, to the Andes (delimiting Argentina and Chile).

Chilean Patagonia goes from Andes to Pacific cost.
San Carlos de Bariloche is on Río Negro state, below Neuquén state.
Neuquén is the "north" part of Patagonia Argentina, Villa la Angostura is located in Neuquén for instance, and San Martín de los Andes as well.
All three have sky centers discussed before: Cerro Catedral in Bariloche. Cerro Bayo in Villa la Angostura, and Chapelco in San Martín de los Andes.

Its peaks resemble the towers of a temple medieval Gothic style. Hence its name.

The Cerro Catedral, located 19 kilometers from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, paving the way people around the world eager to experience the adventure promised by Snow.

With options for all types of skiing, including off the track, those who practice the freestyle and snowboarding will have a specially designed area with bumps and rails to demonstrate their skills. Cathedral is also setting for the most important international competitions.

From Bariloche, by the by. Bustillo until kilometre 8 (crossing Cathedral). Then turn left on the tarmac road to access the ski center, with its free parking for 960 vehicles. There is also a regular buses every 30 minutes, or it can go up in a taxi, discount or with some tourist excursion. Season: from 18/06 to 10/10, divided into high, low and average. Hours: 9 to 17. Activities: alpine skiing, in substance, and crossing off the track, snowboarding, bobsledding, paragliding, trekking, mountaineering and mountain biking. Services: inns, restaurants top level, lockers, local clothing and souvenirs, digital photos, medical service at the base of the hill, public telephones and Internet access at the base station in 1600, ski rental, ample parking, downtown reports, child care, ski school, shopping, clubs, transfers to the hill, press room, four trax and snow cats.

Tango in Bariloche Argentina!


Bariloche has, their own tango festival.

Miguel Roldan and his entire team, carried out Patagonia and Tango Festival.

But the festival is not only show: during the first six days is what organizers call the prefestival, which proposed musical clinics, a contest of letters referring to the theme of Patagonia and other visual arts (painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, graphic design, digital, mixed-media, sculpture and objects), dance classes, a dance workshop in the business arena and a championship for dancers.


It also introduced a CD with local artists: Bariloche Tango Trio, Graciela Novellino and Juanjo Miraglia, Paola Schiavoni, Ariel Ascheri, Laura Calvo, Carina Alberelli Juri and Andrea.

To dance the tango in Bariloche, the first place is El Rincon del Tango. You can look at the billboard that to the street in Moreno 40 and choose. The tango classes are very crowded and open.

El Bolsón



Anyone who travel to San Carlos de Bariloche, don't want to miss El Bolson.


And particularily the Craft Fair, with myriad varieties of handicrafts in all materials, wool, dried flowers, wood, paint, leather, metal, cloth, and more.

And its regional producers also presented there, selling their sweets, vegetables, cheeses, homemade beers and all kind of drinks (you won't get a Coke because rules are rules).


A wide range of artistic street shows. In summer, the Fair provides an array of colour and music Enjoy it on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 15:00 pm

Esquel Argentina


Esquel is located in Chubut state. If you visit San Carlos de Bariloche you must still travel to south, what means you will cross the whole Río Negro state to get into Chubut.


Esquel is located at north west of Chubut some 1980 km from Buenos Aires.
You can travel in Via Bariloche bus either from Buenos Aires or San Carlos de Bariloche.
Also Andesmar goes to Esquel.
If you prefer to take a flight, Aerolineas Argentinas or Lade are available options for this trip.
Esquel has lot of snow in winter and beautiful lakes as the one in the photo: Futalaufquen lake.

Bariloche Argentina


San Carlos de Bariloche has a fixed calendar for all kind of activities.
In cold winter ski is the main entertainment.

Cerro Catedral has excellent infraesctructure and skiing there is a real pleasure.

Villa Catedral is the name of the zone near ski lifts, where you can find restaurantes, shopping, sports shops, bars and even ski resorts or hotels.

Bariloche Argentina is not only ski, but winter from end of June to September give us all that oportunity.

En Villa la Angostura



Wondering what to do in Villa la Angostura?
If this is your first time in this region of Patagonia Argentina, you surely wanna know what's around here.

Start with Bariloche because is a great destination just 86 km away from la Angostura. If you like sky, Cerro Catedral is a cool place for sky from July to August, even September depending on weather.

Don't forget San Martin de los Andes going to north, another cute small city, growing up fast and Cerro Chapelco is another alternative.

But Cerro Bayo (look at the photo) is rigth there in Villa la Angostura for you.

Those are 3 skiing centers, but there is so many other things to do. Next articles will cover that!

Cabañas Villa la Angostura


What makes Villa la Angostura so special? Well, it provides a new sight of Nahuel Huapi lake, but also sleeping in Villa la Angostura is very charming.



The Ville is small but very active. And you can stay in 3 main zones:

1) Puerto Manzano
2) Lomas del Correntoso
3) Villa Puertos

You will find beautiful cabañas Villa la Angostura in all of them.

Cabañas or cabins are designed for 2 up to 10 persons depending on the lodging itself. Those are good options because mosto of them have kitchen and they are very comfortable.

Bariloche Sky


Skiing in Bariloche Argentina may be quite an experience.

Sky in Bariloche

Where? In Cerro Catedral.
When? Though snow has it's own times, high winter season is usually July and August, and sometimes you can find snow in June and September too, so if you are a low season hunter that would be an oportunity.

In July and August hotel reservations are hard to get if you didn't act with time enough. Consider april or may as a good time to look for your lodging since you will not get any if you start your search in July itself.

There are excellent Spa and Resorts in Villa Catedral just meters away from sky lifts and you can also look for lodging in Avenida Bustillo just some kilometers away from Cerro Catedral and you will be near the city center (some 6 km or more) and also near the way to Cerro Catedral

Llao Llao Bariloche

Even when San Carlos de Bariloche is a whole world in travel terms, most european passengers are amazed with the natural beauty of Llao Llao.


Llao LLao is a place where mountains and lake meets, but is also the name of the famous hotel.

Golf lovers can find a real delight in llao llao courses too, and by extension all travellers that likes good hotels and lodges can't miss Llao LLao.

Buenos Aires Lodging


Argentina and Buenos Aires are close related words.
If you arrive by air, you will meet Buenos Aires city.
This is one of travellers favorites destinations, so what about sleeping in BA?

There is so many options in Buenos Aires: Luxury Apartments for rent, located in the most safe, distinguished, traditional and lively zones of Buenos Aires: Recoleta, Palermo, Puerto Madero.

But the safest are always Hotels in Buenos Aires. There is enough rooms so you probably will find the right one with a minimal effort.

However, keep in mind to visit other awesome places like Bariloche and Villa la Angostura and don't use all of your time in Buenos Aires only!

El Chalten


Well, let's assume you are in El Calafate. You are almost in the edge of the world so you surely want to take advantage of that situation. That's where El Chalten appears.
What is El Chaltén (original name has the accent): tourism, and growing fast due to high volume of international tourism that comes year after year
There are a lot of lodging options even when El Chalten is geographically isolated.
To get to El Chalten, you must go first to El Calafate –by plane or by bus- and from there, by road 220 Km. through the patagonic steppe, along Argentino and Viedma lakes.

Puerto Madryn


Patagonia is much more than mountains. In fact there is sea world full of amazing landscapes and living nature.

In Chubut you will find Puerto Madryn.
Most of people that visit Puerto Madryn prefer months from May and ahead, since you can see the famous Ballena Franca (a kind of whale)

If this adventure is not enough for you, take your time to meet Península de Valdés, see the penguins, rest on the cold and wide beaches, and why not, make some diving.
Those who dares, will find in Puerto Madryn a place hard to forget, and surely will have a good time.

El Calafate


Often many people visit El Calafate when they visit Argentina.
El Calafate is located at south coast of Lago Argentino in Santa Cruz, that's a long way from Buenos Aires, but you can't expect to find so many beauty all together, right?

So consider spend a couple of days more, ensuring you will have time to see Glaciar Perito Moreno. It's a real jewell of Patagonia Argentina, no tourist want to miss.

Argentina Bariloche


What makes San Carlos de Bariloche so attractive?

Well, perhaps is there an optimal factors combination that makes that city "work" for everybody.

Though the city has a well defined center, is spreaded along the beautiful Nahuel Huapi lake coast.

Between the city center and the famous Llao Llao internation resort is there some 25 km. Driving those is quite an experience and you have nice surprises on both ends.

Llao Llao is an unbeliveable place, with Villa Golf and Puerto Pañuelo where excursions to Chile begins.

San Martin de los Andes


San Martin de los Andes is another big reference when you visit Patagonia Argentina.
Located at corredor de los siete lagos, San Martin is a very well conserved town resting among lakes and mountains.

San Martin de los Andes counts with it's own sky center Cerro Chapelco and it's a good place to visit too in your Patagonia Argentina Trip.

An optimal infraestructure and charming details makes your visit a pleasure when you go to San Martin.

Lacar lake can be navigated taking excursions you can contract on town center.

Villa la Angostura


Just some 86 km away from San Carlos de Bariloche, in Neuquén, Argentina you find Villa la Angostura.

This small paradise offers many many alternatives.

In winter Cerro Bayo is the sky center with all levels options for experts or newbies in sky or sknowboard.

Similar to Bariloche, Villa la Angostura resides on Nahuel Huapi lake coast.
Low season offers beautiful landscapes and excursions like 7 lagos starting from Angostura to San Martin de los Andes.

If you visit patagonia you will find in Villa la Angostura a place to stay, not just a village to visit one day.
